Otto Warmbier, formerly held as a political prisoner in North Korea, has passed away from his condition which began in captivity with the Socialist country of North Korea. Warmbier was reportedly surrounded by family at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center when he passed.

Warmbier had allegedly removed a propaganda poster from hotel while attending a tour of North Korea. For this “crime” he was sentenced to 15 years of hard-labor. Otto’s father lambasted President Obama for not getting his son out of captivity during his time as President, especially after President Trump got him out of there in just a few short months.

If there is anything to be thankful for in this situation, it is that President Trump got Warmbier home to spend his final days on this Earth with his family.  We now have a President who will do whatever he can to have political prisoners from America returned to the United States, and that is encouraging. At the same time, it is a downright atrocity that Otto Warmbier was sentenced to even 1 day of hard-labor, and that North Korea would send him home in such a fragile state.
